Sheep Island will be very familiar to anyone who has visited Ballintoy Harbour. As you descend down the twisty road towards the harbour you will see Sheep Island off to your right. Imposing and rugged, this rocky island is one of the many natural features which lures Northern Ireland landscape photographers to Ballintoy.
This aerial landscape photograph of Northern Ireland was taken on a late May evening. At this time of year the sun sets at almost 10pm and I had a long wait through several hours of mixed weather for these amazing conditions. As a photographer I often have people say to me “there is a clear blue sky today, that must be great for photos.” Surprisingly, that couldn’t be further from the truth.
